Pros
Good culture, immediate management are trained to manage people - which is one thing AGF do extremely well - and its a positive place to work. You are set up for success. Issues raised at weekly management meetings are always acted on, if its to help smooth a job or roadblock and assist productivity. Sadly, a noisy work environment is not seen as a productivity issue. Nor are key issues like their operations department - a centralized source of data pain.
Cons
Cube torture. Whoever did the space planning here did not think forward enough to not mix noisy functions with analytical/quiet functions. Frustrating and may be the reason this reviewer quits. Productivity suffers horrendously as a direct result. Working from home not an offered option, sadly it would improve productivity. Absolutely nowhere to take a sensitive phone call. HIERARCHY IS ENFORCED - so bad systems get perpetuated as managers don't want to report problems UP. Of course, they want to report that everything is swell due to their superb management skills. Which is not the case, of course. Bad stuff gets perpetuated because upper management -where real decisions are made- is a mutual appreciation society. And everyone's afraid to address a key area of weakness ... the centralized data idea. It doesn't work and is a key source of error and a bottleneck for everyone. Slow. irritating. And often wrong.
