Pros
Flexible schedule, because there is no other staff, you can pick whenever you want to work.
Cons
Long term employee writing. This place is NOT what it used to be. Poor pay. What you get walking in the door you can expect to stay at for a long time. Minimal raises that don't cover the cost of living. If you get ill or injured on the job good luck trying to get any compensation without a fight. Management will not support you. Management also is good at hiring staff. They have to be since the turnover rate is so high. Also, you should be willing to compromise your ethics and morals because you will be asked to do things that fly in the face of common sense and you know are not good for patient care. However, they do make the numbers for the hospital " look good" on paper. Also expect to never have a good day at work. The second the census drops you will be sent home. Because you will be working with mostly contract nurses, YOU will be the one sent home, as the contract nurses CAN'T be sent home. Don't expect a flex up in staffing when its busy. The plan for this place when its busy is..... They have NO plan. Take your shiny sign on bonus if you get a job here, but you have been warned.
