Pros
I've worked here for 15+ years and my hard work has always paid off with promotions, the ability to lateral to other departments, and opportunities to take on special projects outside of San Diego. As is often the case with online review tools, many of the reviews are written by disenchanted former employees. I can vouch that AMN is a great place to work and build a career. Our senior leadership team is smart, caring and open to suggestions. Our CEO goes above and beyond to communicate across all levels, she even holds town halls where anyone can ask anything of the assembled senior lead team. Do we work hard? Yes. Are we expected to be better than other companies in our field (which often means working a little harder and a little smarter)? Yes. It's worth it. We work for the best organization in the industry, I take pride in the work I do, and we work hard for our hospital clients and our clinicians. In exchange, my company rewards me with support, training, development opportunities and a generous salary.
Cons
It's not really a con, but a work in progress. We've grown substantially over the past year and a half and we're working on building our technology, which can take some time. In the meanwhile, we have to create extra processes to make sure we can keep up with the demand for clinicians and support our clients appropriately.
