Pros

Co-workers Autonomy Training Free Uniform Easy/ fast hiring process I really can't think of any others. It was a good place to work before new management and the shift bids that occured over the summer.

Cons

Critical understaffing (people are leaving for better paying jobs and better management). Lowest pay in the area. Critical equipment is not stocked and they will make you run calls without it. The Hampton roads operation is going down the toilet. I do not think it will last much longer. They just cut the Eastern Shore operation and are making those employees travel almost 2 hours to report to work and pay almost $20 in tolls that they will NOT receive reimbursement for. Management does not listen to it's EMT's or dispatchers. Some of the trucks are running illegally (vehicle maintainance expired). When you voice a concern to management good luck getting a direct response.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

As we continue to strengthen our culture, our Core Behaviors remain the foundation for how we lead, engage, and deliver results across our teams. These behaviors are not just guiding principles—they define the expectations for how we interact with each other, our patients, and our communities every day. At their core, these behaviors drive consistency and alignment across the organization. By prioritizing care, encouraging open communication, seeking to understand, collaborating on solutions, and holding ourselves accountable, we create an environment grounded in trust, respect, and shared responsibility. I am proud to be part of a great organization that exemplifies the core behaviors.

Cons

Success of the Core Behaviors depends on consistent leadership, clear application, and sustained reinforcement over time. This is a challenge that will take time.
