Pros

Good teaching materials/system. Some teachers found it too mechanical but I liked it.

Cons

The management is just sick. They don't pay, they don't want to pay, they don't like to pay. Example: I got told off by the head of HR for asking for some back pay since I was running out of food money. They do not care about you. At all. I also did some part time stuff and would generally say that you should entirely avoid Vietnam. Mayyyyyyyyybe south Vietnam is better, I heard it's really different. But the north is just full of snakes and rats, and I'm talking about the humans. Yeah yeah some people are nice. But the ratios of nice to truly scum are way off. Just don't do it.

Pros

This is a great place to work for any person new to teaching. For those that have experience or are eager to gain more skills, there are a lot of opportunities for advancement. While Apax is not perfect, everyone continuously tries to make it a better place to work and improve themselves. There is a big focus on feedback and growth. As long as you stay open, you will gain a lot.

Cons

I don't see this as a con, however, coming into this company, it's important to keep in mind that you will need to stay flexible. This was tough for me in the beginning. However I am incredibly grateful to have gained this from my experience with Apax.

Thanks for your feedback - we very much appreciate the positive vibes at such a chaotic and demoralising time for all! Let's hope we can get back to being the biggest and boldest English education company in Vietnam in 2021 once this pandemic fades a bit.

Pros

No lesson prep. They have some shady connections with the government that allow them to get people in the country.

Cons

They are months late on pay, the staff is generally incompetent on every level and lie constantly. You too most likely will contribute to that culture of inefficiency, as they will give you zero support and let you rot unaided. This means you'll have a hard time smiling while singing the "Hello Song."

Thank you for your feedback. To date (June 2021), there is no outstanding pay for teachers from 2020 or the first quarter of 2021. Almost all of April's salary payments have been paid out, and a portion of May is to be made imminently. If a staff member suffers hardship of any kind, s/he is strongly recommended to make contact with her/his manager immediately.
