Pros

Good as a temporary place to work

Cons

There are a lots of issues with this company in Israel. It starts with the no respect and a non-professionalism of the first order from your management, when the management is not able and not professional enough to resolve any work-related issues as well as not contributing and not encouraging your professionalism growth as well. The customer’s mistakes are easily turn into yours that you are just a drooping goat for the customer. Management was aware that there are some individuals on the customer side afford themselves bull and abuse you verbally and did not do nothing just because “they are the customer”. You won’t grow professionally that much as they tend hire an experienced professional (as of my own case) and give you just a routine customer’s job – which has no any little relation to your professional orientation, a kind of a type a work which their customer neglect to perform as putting the breathing air mask or any other duty they decide won’t worth of them to mess with, so think if you are really ready to work in such a toxic environment. The management ignore any attitude of you to grow professionally, you won’t be involved in any training, refreshments, any time you would have to struggle to perform any repair activities because the customer prefer go on their own to keep their proficiency up, which give you a feeling that you stuck in a wrong place. The management is nonprofessional, in many cases I found a new hired guy knew the equipment better than your manager who used to work on the same system for years. The management ask you come to work on a seek off day, and deprive you of the earn bonus pay just of they might not like you, which is nothing but an act of discrimination. Generally, the environment is very toxic not healthy at all. The equipment is pretty dull and has a terrifying ‘ergonomically design’, so you would have to consider muscle strain, muscle imbalances, fatigue, injury and mental stress. Based on my own experience, I would rate the equipment as of the mid 8o’s so you won’t be generally immersed in any challenging professional environment at all. I would definitely not recommend to work here! -no work/life balance, you would have to work your off-shift days; - 99% of your worktime you will be involved in PMs – Preventative maintenance which will diminish your experience and capabilities as a Field Service Engineer, finally you will find yourself doing PMs and would not be involved in any Corrective maintenance tasks at all as Intel decide the importance of the PMs is on a higher level than corrective maintenance– the tasks as of your duty they will take on themselves. - You won’t be involved that much in the FSE’s duties, but will be turned in a ‘general purpose worker’ and would have to perform any other task Intel ask you, mostly the job they neglect to perform as putting the breathing air mask and packing the used heavy parts, which would have to be replaced as the part of their PMs. -no benefits as the other respectful companies do like AMAT, they will charge any car accident deductible as the company is really cheap on insurance as on any other thing – they drop it on you, even fix a flat tire and car wash is on your own expenses! -no any health coverage benefits – no tooth, no health insurance!!! as the other better companies do, which is quite rare within the industry! - you can’t claim your annually vacation days, as the company minimize the human resources and at the end of the year, they will cut off unused vacation days of you. -No any culture values for this company at all – the whole mess, everybody does what he is up to, any “BKM” can come true to work with no any approval from the engineering side, and mostly with no any documentation process, they will let you work by the nonconfirmed procedures. -The management is so toxic that there is no any communication between the personnel, the customer and the remotely located development team, so much often you find yourself not informed and there is no any handshake with other FSE.

Pros

ASM is not for everyone. And I do not mean it in either positive or negative way. It is just the way it is. We believe in the semiconductor business outlook fueled by AI demand. We believe in keeping the talent density to drive progress. We believe in hard work and at times you have to go above and beyond. We believe in excellence. And we are fanatic about it. And this is what I have seen during my long tenure here. I have seen great progress where ASM breaks through silos and as one cohesive team working together to deliver for our customers. And this progress will not happen with small and incremental changes. It requires bold transformation driven by our C-level leaders. And with every transformation there are challenges and there are opportunities, there are supporters and there are those who would like to keep status quo. I have seen great opportunities given to people who believe in our cause and deserve it. I am not saying that we did all the right things. I believe we made many good decisions, and we did make mistakes as a human does. But without change there is no progress and without progress there is no success. And we respect those who decides to join and stay with us in this transformation journey as we respect those who decide that this is not their usual cup of tea and withdraw. This is us. This is ASM as I know it. And I am enjoying every single bit of it.

Cons

For sure there are things to improve.
