Pros

ATCC has an excellent reputation and the company has an important impact in supporting global research. The products from ATCC are excellent.

Cons

Recently, ATCC have reduced the sick leave accrual from 12 to 5 days per year. Salaries are quite low and other biotech companies in the area are offering much better package (please check on Glassdoor). The new ERP system was a disaster that affected employees productivity and customer service. Any process in the company is brutally slow, you need hours at the phone and write dozens of emails to get something moving. Needless to say, like many reviews have already explained: the management is extremely poor. The HR office was excellent in the past, but unfortunately there was a turnover the last year, and such office is became very unsupportive and unprofessional.

Pros

- Benefits are pretty good -People I directly work with in the labs are good at their jobs - Manassas Campus has a convenient grab and go food area which helps out when I forget to pack a lunch / don't have time to go out and grab something -Closed between Christmas and New Years

Cons

- Needs better coverage for mental health care - It seems like a lot of money goes towards administrative areas, while the lab wings are pretty cramped. It badly needs an extension with additional lab spaces. - Company recently changed from biweekly paychecks to weekly paychecks, which limits the ability to flex time, and being salaried, overtime is not compensated. -Can be very difficult to climb the ladder. Admin staff seem to be promoted more easily than lab staff. - Large reliance on paper records - Management tends to rush implementation of new systems before they're ready - Even with this being a non-profit, C-suite management makes multi-hundred-thousand-dollar salaries, and the old CEO was making over $2M in 2024 while not contributing much. It's hard to believe they're in touch with the common employee - Dragged their heels on implementing parental leave until forced to by law. HR loves to emphasize the small things they implement. -No leave sharing program
