Pros
Ability to gain hands-on experience in many different technologies, topologies, and corporate configurations spanning multiple industries. A learner's paradise.
Cons
No escalation - Tier 1 does same work as Tier 2. Tier 3 fails to provide team support. Not standardized - owner regularly makes decisions based on current mood with no forethought. Mistakes are placed on anyone except the decision makers. Owner doesn't always make informed decisions and readily leaves blame focused on staff when any of those decisions go awry.
