Pros

Decent Benefits, the people are mostly nice. For kids fresh out of college, a lot of practical statistics can be learned - and similarly for programming if you like statistical programming. Beautiful views of ocean - really nice if you you get an office with window. Once you fully understand how the company works, most cons can be side-stepped, or based on the individual, they can be turned into pros.

Cons

The practical skills you learn will be very specific, as opposed to general training / skills - so you will not likely be able to take those skills with you to another job. The pay is way below market value and raises are based more on relations than on merit. Management tends to be unorganized, leading to crisis before deadlines. Implicitly, you will have to work longer hours. Over time, this proves too frustrating for most individuals and they leave. Long hours of work are worth more to the company than efficient short hours of work. I can understand this, because all work is government contracted and company must spend money for given year or else give back to government. For most individuals, this is not sufficient justification for spending so much time at work. As with most companies, they charge much more for your work than you get paid ( roughly 2 times as much for an hour's work ). Considering the pay is below market value already, and company makes millions yearly, the difference is not acceptable to most individuals.

Pros

- The work is intellectually engaging and gave me many chances to grow technically. - I learned a lot from talented coworkers and appreciated being part of projects with real-world relevance. - There was also good exposure to translating technical work into clear, usable takeaways.

Cons

- The work can be intense and detail-heavy, and deadlines can sometimes feel demanding. - Priorities may shift quickly, which can make it hard to plan ahead. - At times, the volume of revisions and fast pace can be stressful.
