Pros

The company has a bar They don't expect you to work after hours

Cons

The team has been unable to produce a single major release in nearly 9 months, constantly pressured by management based on promises made to the CTO that things will be done by an unrealistic deadline, without properly consulting with the people producing code. Developer opinions are ignored unless you're a team lead or manager. Will pay you as little as possible, regardless of time spent at the company or value to the business. Go-to threat is taking away weekends, but they never follow through, leading to morale loss. Inexperienced management team.

Pros

Good career opportunities for lower experience. Understanding for unique situations. General staff very friendly. Great HR management. Social committee.

Cons

Goal posts/finish line’s constantly being moved regarding promotions and bonuses. The opposite of transparency. Middle and upper management manipulation. Poorly managed with a “gang up” mentality in management. Reluctant to invest in employees. Large disparities in some employees not carrying their weight and others being massively underpaid whilst doing the job of what should be 3 people with little to no recognition. Would prefer you to “earn” the pay rise that should come with a title change promotion (which surely they should both be earned at the same time?), and then really drag their feet when it’s their turn to contribute to your KPI’s being met. In need of a lot of upper management, but instead allowing middle management to go unchecked with little to no consequence, inevitably letting the blame fall on the team members as opposed to those that manage the team. Multi-company environment, dividing what little attention is already lacking from such few upper management between the companies.
