Pros
The people that work at Advanced Office are great. I truly enjoyed working with them. They care about each other and they care about doing a good job for customers. The company has a strong goal of providing excellent service to customers, which everyone works together well as a team to achieve. When things go wrong, management is supportive.
I liked that there were individual and team goals. I also liked that there were opportunities to move around. I worked there for a long time and held a number of different positions.
Being a small company (under 100 employees), the owner knew everyone's names. He would even call me on my birthday if he didn't see me in person. There are a number of employee appreciation programs like employee of the month, bonuses, food, and fun events that made me feel the leadership cared.
There are also a lot of opportunities to get involved in projects in addition to your normal job. This gave me the opportunity to stretch my creativity, work with people I wouldn't normally work with, and show additional skills to my boss and the owner they wouldn't normally see. These were always voluntary and a lot of people liked to get involved.
Cons
The company is smaller and therefore runs pretty lean on employees. This is good and bad. While your contributions get noticed, there can be a lot of work from time to time. I liked to stay busy, so it was OK for me.
The pay is decent, but not higher than average in most cases. The people, and the other pros made it worth it. Raises were steady if you did a good job, but not exactly annual on the dot.
