Pros

The company has an exclusive contract with Caterpillar L.P.S.D, as it was started by a previous long time Caterpillar maintenance employee, who felt he could offer better, more focused service to the host company.

Cons

Management of its employes and process is flawed. No structure in place to properly train, re train, and/or verify its employee know how to do the job correctly. The company is sold as having customer focus and process improvement as top priority, but in practice, they are just in the business to stay employed, with gimmicky campaigns, catchy rhetoric, and manipulated metrics to show value, without actually doing the fundamental things to provide value. Without a proper training platform in place, opportunities for career development are non existent. Care for its employees well being is deplorable at best, since there is little planning ahead for host plant shutdown and cutbacks through out the year, so abrupt temporary layoffs and shift changes with little to know notice ahead of time, leaves its employees stuck to where they can't even seek possible temporary work in other plants that need aid, while its host plant is in shutdown. The company promises more than they can actually deliver realistically to its customer, and with the poor leadership within and outside of the plant, this leaves the employees to bare the brunt of the customers wrath when expectations are not met, and that isn't fair to its employees. Never should maintenance technicians have to answer directly to its host customers management and supervisory staff, as all concerns should funnel through the site or and/or regional supervisor.

Pros

Great time to sell into the manufacturing sector related to productivity and equipment reliability.

Cons

Operational driven company but constantly changing the sales org and strategy. "Leaders" that have no background in business development or revenue generation responsible for sales strategy. Wasn't uncommon to report to a new leader or move sales territories multiple times in a year but quota never changed. Top performers are expected to do and sell more but additional financial upside was out of the question. A select group of legacy employees and "leaders" made decisions in a bubble in most cases. I was a top performer during my entire tenure at ATS. I agreed to work out a two week notice to help transition my accounts but was terminated after three days. No one in middle management, director, or exec-level roles asked for feedback or even made the time to send an email wishing me well or thanking me for my contributions during my five years with the company. In fact, my health insurance was terminated with no warning before I left the last day. My contributions and sacrifices for ATS meant so little to the company that they didn't care that my two small children wouldn't have insurance for over a month when I tried to leave the right way.
