Pros
Our team were remote, which was a perk. Many of the people I worked with have become lifelong friends and were incredible at their jobs.
Cons
Executive management (CEO) thinks he's on Mad Men and has no problem swearing at people, blaming, and making veiled threats. He once made the manager of the department (the only woman) get him a beer during a meeting at his office. They will make you cry and say they "just give straight talk". They play favourites and avoid giving raises at all costs unless you're in their "circle of favourites". Executive management has done a considerable amount of questionable tax/financial reporting (evasion, shifting numbers to get crisis grants, claiming business expenses that are not business expenses, lying on tax returns) and seem to think that employees won't say anything to each other. But the reality is, when you don't treat people well, they talk. They laid off our entire department of long-term employees for "financial reasons" after being exposed for doing something unethical, then proceeded to rehire for the roles out of the Philippines paying them an exploitative ~10k USD/year.
