Pros
Lots of overtime income if you can handle it. The time and a half adds up pretty fast, and due to the amount of time on the road traveling from customer to customer you don't do that much real work in a day. That's good because working in 120+ degree air compressor rooms takes its toll on your body.
Cons
Dangerous customer facilities, as well as being a dangerous job to begin with. There's a lot of potential for electric shock, finger removal from rotating equipment, heat stroke, getting blasted with air debris, etc. Also, you may be very tired while on the road, especially during an on call week.
