Pros
- Distance Working from wherever you want
- Partial flexibility regarding schedule (2 weeks before head)
- Some clients are well-knows in the gaming industry (though the games are not)
Cons
- Among the employees, there is a distrust and discontentment. This for instance led to spontaneous terminations. Resulting, Alchemic Dream lost the project/client what again led to a tensed working environment.
- For Alchemic Dream, Freelancer are seen as easily exchangeable, AD ends their contract within 1 week. After some months of initial training, this can be quite frustrating and created an environment of uncertainty. Especially for employees with family that have to rely on this job.
- I heard from a colleague, that Alchemic Dream is unreliable towards payment and that for employees outside of Canada, it is hard to to claim due wages in the case of a dispute.
- All communication and motivation within the team depends on Team Leader. But Alchemic Dream treats them bad.. e.g. regarding payment, AD holds back information what results in chaos, or replaced them without prior warning.
- Payment is usually low, late, overtime hours are not paid, and wage increase had been promised at the beginning, but never mentioned again later.
