Pros
As a federal support contractor, AST is very hands-off. Very little need for interaction with the company except for administrative tasks like invoicing, training, or timesheets. Company will sponsor you for a PMP training and exam.
Cons
Professional development outside of the PMP is a joke. Annual goals developed with manager are pretty much a box checking exercise. Company won't contribute money for outside training to learn new skills relevant to the job, expects the client to pay. 401k provider is high-fee, no company matching into a HSA for a high deductible health plan, health insurance is probably the worst I've had yet, doesn't seem to cover anything 'preventative' except a flu shot. Vacation and sick days are are the same (being sick isn't relaxing last time I checked), would be ok if they gave you more to compensate, but most are offered 15 days.
