      Pros

      The management encourages employees to become leaders. The salary is competitive. AST understands what is necessary for their employees to support clients. Management is friendly and patient. HR/admin is friendly, helpful, and supportive.

      Cons

      Probably like many contracting service companies, might not be a good fit if you don't have a bit of capability of being independent/self-starter.

      Pros

      I have worked for Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) for 7 years. I have found management to be fair and supportive and salaries to be competitive. I have been happy with the health benefits, too.

      Cons

      As with working for any federal government contractor, there is some stress involved when it comes time for contract rebid.
