Pros

Great for white men and those in the family / friend circle and those that are luckily kept insulated by great managers in several departments like inside sales. Good benefits; good flexibility.

Cons

This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Of 25-ish VP's only 3 were female - 1 forced into retirement, 1 let go so they didn't have to pay her salary, 1 still there because she was "with" /married her boss and still reports to him; and not a single minority among them. As someone else commented, there are several white men in the 'circle' who are running their divisions/departments into the ground yet they have no repercussions. Instead they let go people who actually work hard so they can pay for their mistakes, boondoggles and golf outings. It's a shame, used to be a great company. If you are a female, run - don't walk - away from this company. If you're a white male that's a friend of an exec, come on down - you won't have to do a thing and get paid for it.

Almo Response

Almo is proud to be a 72-year old, financially strong and growing family-owned and operated business. Almo’s reputation as a family-friendly and fair employer in the Philadelphia area has created a place where employees refer friends and family and we hire qualified referrals. It’s great to see 2nd generation Almo employees here. We have women in various leadership, staff and sales positions across the country (three of our 10 executives are females and nearly 1/3 of our total employees and managers are female) and Almo is proud of the strength of our female leaders and their contributions to our business. Three leadership values at Almo are Family, Integrity and Teamwork and upholding these values are core to our success, evolution and growth.
