Cons
Be cautious about taking a job a APUS. Jessica Hanson, in her first time as president, is a miserable leader. She screams at people. She is dismissive of anyone making a suggestion to improve things. Her humiliation of qualified talent in public settings has caused 15 people to leave the company in under one year. For a small office, that’s egregiously out of proportion. In their place, she hires inexperienced people, likely so that she assuages her insecurity. A true leader who is collaborative and team friendly would never manage an office that way. Further, she and her new layer of senior level puppets will bad mouth someone who has left because the new hires are unable (due to their lack of qualifications) to figure things out for themselves. People work in fear and there is no trust in the office. The ongoing turnover has the office in a state of flux, chaos, turmoil and disruption. So before you decide to work here, do your due diligence and contact any one (or more) of the 15 people who can provide genuine insight about the reign of terror and poor leadership of Jessica Hanson. Perhaps the NY office may become acceptable as a workplace after the Korean headquarters takes decisive action.
