Rewarding work undermined by toxic management culture - West Hall - Deputy Chef Manager Anchor Employee Review

Pros

The job itself and the kitchen work was rewarding. 12 years of experience allowed me to contribute positively and you always finish around 5 pm

Cons

The management culture was deeply problematic. I experienced consistent undermining, disproportionate criticism, and a leadership style that eroded confidence rather than built it. Feedback was used as a control tool rather than a development one. The environment created unnecessary anxiety and stress that affected my wellbeing outside of work. This is not acceptable in any workplace, let alone one working with vulnerable people in a care setting.
