Pros
- Apifiny has managed to assemble a team of talented and friendly professionals. Sadly, their talents are wasted here. It is a revolving door - no one lasts more than a few months by choice or getting fired. - The concept for the business is interesting and lofty - An opportunity to learn a lot about crypto/blockchain.
Cons
- Little respect for people’s time: meetings start hours late and go very long/late (after midnight) including weekends. Expectation is that you are available all hours and on vacation (if ever allowed to take) - PTO is actively discouraged and requests for time off are largely rejected, despite an unlimited PTO policy. Founder is the only person who can approve time off. - Demotions and/or decreases in salary are not uncommon as is public shaming. - Founder takes little outside advice. He doesn’t tap into the deep expertise on the team, rather just expects (disposable) employees to execute orders without question. - Constant shift in priorities. Little progress gets made. Despite countless meetings, information isn’t always communicated. - Unrealistic deadlines and expectations. Product is far from ready but entire team is expected to delivery like it is. - The differences in China/US work styles, cultures, hours and level of expertise make for a very inefficient workflow. - Founder is totally opaque and is disinterested in the advice or input from his very talented team. No loyalty. - Potential employees: run away as fast as you can! Don’t be fooled by the clearly fake 5 star reviews.
