Pros

At ACS you really get great experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. You’re able to service a community who otherwise may not be able to get mental health services. The team members are great. Management has changed around a lot in the past year and this has been a positive.

Cons

It’s very easy to get burnt out. Which is easy to do in the community mental health world. You have to learn to say no and have boundaries. Don’t take on a role unless it is something that you truly want to do- like an enhanced service. The pay structure changed within the past year some people like the change others do not care for it.

Pros

There is not a single pro to this company

Cons

If you value your mental, emotional, and physical health, stay far away from this company. If you begin to succeed and out do others, they will begin to target you. I was verbally harassed, sexually harassed, and sexually assaulted while working here. When I put in an HR report they fired me- the second time they retaliated against me for a HR complaint. They do not take care of their employees - the front desk girl takes care of the entire building because they refuse to hire anyone to manage. They refused to give her time off when her sister was in the hospital because 'there was no one to cover'. She also has to cover 3 other offices virtually due to others not doing their job. They intentionally keep a skeleton crew and pay nothing. They do not care about their clients. They were supposed to give priority to specific clients when it came to mental health crisis, but when the crisis would occur the therapists would refuse services and the client would have to wait a week or more. One therapist removed a crisis client on her calendar for one of her regulars with no contact to the crisis client causing her to spiral and put herself into a dangerous situation. Management does not care about their employees or clients. Again, if you value yourself or your clients, do not work here or encourage people to work or be a client here.
