Pros
Management is top tier. The owners are responsive and hands on. The level of project controls is well balanced. Development is self-driven, but knowledgeable resources are always nearby. Customers become regulars, and you can quickly get your name out there as a notable engineer in the field. This company has consistently produced Controls magazine headline engineers.
Cons
This company hires a lot of recent graduates, and they don't always hire based on relevant controls experience, but rather on ability to learn and relate to relevant industrial concepts. Being new to industry, the lack of field knowledge can be overwhelming when you are assigned your first project. They use project work as the primary way to train new hires, challenging them to learn the relevant software and programming concepts necessary to complete the job. Being fair, it's not their business to educate new engineers. They are quick to facilitate your access to training materials, but this is mostly self-led.
