- Small business mentality in the sense that it's more about who you know, who you're friends with, and who you're related to than whether or not you can do the job.
- Snake like office environment, people can and do talk behind your back, you will be thrown under the bus at any opportunity. Extremely strong Do as I Say, Not as I do culture. Both positive reviews for this company are written by the same person. Micromanagement is exceptionally strong, often by people who are not qualified to tell others how to do their job.
- Personal and religious beliefs of senior leadership are frequently pushed onto other team members.
- Salaried employees are still beholden to a time clock which senior leadership DOES check and review. As such, you get the worst of both worlds; the expectations of timeliness and punctuality with being hourly, and the expectation of working until the job is done because you're salaried.
- Senior leadership does not believe in remote work and wants to micromanage. Hybrid/Remote is only for certain employees, who are in the trusted circles.
- Position hires for Risk Managers, but that is not what occurs here. Risk Managers at this company would be better described as claims administrators who handle low level claims directly, and act as liasions between themselves and the carriers for more serious and advanced claims. Those with a Claims Background may have more success than those with a true Risk background. Your job is not to manage the total cost of risk, it's to be a claims handler for a variety of companies who do not have the foot print or scale to warrant handling claims in-house. This is not a bad thing, but understand that this is the job in question and not a Corporate Risk Management role.
