Fun, easy summer job. A really great first job if you love interacting with people and being outside all day. Being a lifeguard gives you a lot of life skills you can take with you in your future job. You learn how to interact with others, show up on time, work as a team with other lifeguards and keep people safe. This is also a really great job if you want to go into the medical field because you will need to be CPR certified before you can apply for the job. You will also learn water safety skills that come in handy all the time! Ladies, you can get a nice tan as well!
Cons
My shifts were only 4 hours a day and it was hard to get more work time becuase the management team hired so many lifeguards for just one pool! So I wish I could have had longer shifts and it also gets very boring so be prepared for that! Even though you may only work 4-6 hour shifts it can seem like an eternity!
