Pros
Arcadia Solutions offers people a lot of work experience in a short amount of time. As with most consulting firms, you will spend the majority of your time away from the home office, which allows integration into different work environments. The unique thing about Arcadia, since it is a small company, is that individual employees are encouraged to participate in the day to day operations. This is everything from the sales/marketing to the recruiting. It is a very close-knit group of employees. The Arcadia culture reminded me of college more then a workplace.
Cons
With consulting, you work crazy hours, and work/life balance is non-existent. Kind of a good and bad, the base salary is lower then many companies, but there are quarterly bonuses. The criteria for how much a bonus amounts to is not transparent, with a large weighting on "Management Discretion". If you want to move up in the company, you need to do internal projects. These can range from creating a web site to sales/marketing. These are usually done on the off hours, and are non-billable (though, it does help with the "Management Discretion" mentioned above).
