Pros
Overall a safe place to work. Hours are stable and overtime can be available but not consistently. There is potential for advancement for some. Pension and benefits (while still employed) are decent and there is profit sharing for full time employees eventually.
Cons
If you are friends with the boss(es) you will find there are lots of opportunities at your disposal. If not then you are pretty much stuck where you start. Lack of transparency for competency upgrades which lead to more pay. Lots of tools for safety communication, but often times it will be a long time to sort if it takes money. Lack of accountability so those that don't pull their own weight keep on doing as little as they can requiring the rest of the team picking up the slack, Not much support for line leadership so they are left to fen for themselves at times.
