Pros
The ML/AI space is *hot*, and you definitely feel it at Arize with the amount of customer traction, especially in 2021. The product is really solid for a company at this stage, yet still evolving quickly as we uncover new use cases. Love being part of a domain where there isn't a lot of groundwork already laid by incumbents, because it gives me the autonomy to chart out a fresh path and get creative with how I approach my work. That aside, the team is a large reason why I joined Arize AI. Super sharp folks with boundless empathy for helping each other and our customers. Some of us are experts in the field, others are coming from other industries or positions and learning the ropes - but ultimately everyone is motivated by the same desire to deliver really high caliber work, solve some gnarly customer and technical problems, and have fun doing it. There's a strong sense of personal and professional investment in the company regardless of level and role. This is a crew I wouldn't hesitate to ride into a storm with.
Cons
Arize is still "process light" by design. Having come from really large orgs, it's felt like a layer of burden lifted from my day-to-day, but recognize that not everyone thrives without prescriptive process and guardrails already in place. Hours can be long or erratic if you're in engineering (since we're still rapidly evolving the product) or working through issues for customers based in another time zone. Nothing compared to previous startups I've worked with, but not the best fit if you only want to be online during a predictable 9-5. At our current size, every team member wears many hats depending on what the business needs. It's not a demand by the exec team, but the ones who really thrive are malleable and treat those moments as growth opportunities to become more well-rounded.
