Pros
I've read all the comments below before joining the team, I'm glad I went with my gut and made the move to Arrowhead Advertising. The team is awesome to work with, and I really enjoy working with an experienced and talented senior management. The team rallies off each person's strengths to deliver excellent work to clients. Coming from a family with 20+ years in agency experience. I understand the moves management has made over the last year. Although some former employees may be bitter, management has done a great job at creating and maintaining a superb staff and presenting excellent client work.
Cons
I wish the work space was a bit more open. I really enjoy open offices.
Pros
All the reviews of meeting great co-workers are correct. You meet some people you become life long friends with. It is because you are clinging to each other for some type of ability to survive dealing with the day to day of this place. The CEO, CFO and CCO have an open door policy which is unheard of in other companies. The CEO/CFO aren't here most of the time so good luck actually making a meeting happen; and people hide from the CCO because they get trapped listening about his time at a Chicago agency 30 years ago and how developed all the advertising for a major fast food chain all by himself. They don't emerge from his corner office for three days. He also likes to come up with TV commercials by looking though online videos and repurposing them for his clients. This is the secret sauce, designers take notes you're working with a creative genius. You do get paid. That is a good thing, since you actually do the work here. Sometimes it comes on the day you're supposed to get paid, sometimes the check bounces and you get paid a few days later. But you do eventually get paid. They pay the bounced check fee too, definitely a bonus! Opportunity for advancement is abundant. Right now people are getting promotions left and right. If you just graduated college get a job here, you will be the account director by November. Interns are being hired and made to do mid-level tasks with no training. As an intern, you also get an intern! It's a win/win. Hopefully one day we will give you benefits for all your hard work, steer clear of the 401k though, it's more of a money pit than an investment. If you are not an intern and looking to advance in your career, know that promotions come in titles only. People are told there is no money and, to be fair, there isn't. Look for a new job during the day and say you have a doctor appointment to interview for a new job. Since everyone has gone to the doctor already, dentist appointments are becoming a hot commodity. People have an incredible work/life balance here. Stroll in at about 9:30 and leave by 5:30. Pack up your belongings at 4:30 to make sure you are raring to go at 5:30. Pack up too fast? Just sit at your desk for an hour and chat with others who also packed up too fast until the clock strikes 5:30, then race each other to the door. But always remember to sign in and out of the binder. If you have errands to run, you can run them any time during the day for as long as you need. No one works late around here anymore, it's great! Most likely because clients are leaving the agency and there isn't any work to do. More time for fun activities! This place is so fun to work at! We get hammered during the day, doesn't matter if it's a Tuesday or a Friday. There is a pool table and ping pong table to hone your skills on. We have a giant chalk board wall and the ceiling has four tiles painted to imitate the sky in case you don't make it outside at all during the day. When you need a nap, head over to the sound booth, it's padded and if you bring a pillow it's rather comfortable.
Cons
After all those pros, how could anyone want to leave this place? I'm staying here forever and ever and ever.
