Poor Management, Wasted Resources, and No Employee Growth Opportunities - Research Scientist Ascend Elements Employee Review

My experience at this company was deeply disappointing. The leadership was ineffective and seemed more interested in protecting their close friends than in fostering a professional, productive environment. Unfortunately, employees had no real opportunities for personal or career development. The company’s financial mismanagement was glaring. After securing funding, they leased a new facility and began renovations, only to halt construction due to internal corruption. Despite stopping the project, they continued to pay rent, wasting investor money with no tangible results. This misuse of funds eventually led to severe budget issues. In November, they laid off over a third of the workforce—more than a hundred employees, many of whom were hardworking and dedicated. Ironically, those who remained were often individuals who contributed little to the company, isolating others or slacking off by chatting and smoking during work hours. Overall, the lack of accountability, poor management practices, and absence of career growth made working here a frustrating experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a stable, supportive work environment.
