Pros

You tell me . .

Cons

I first signed up with this agency back in 2012-2013, and on average I would get booked for every 1 out 5 activations I applied for. I had an experience in 2015 where I found out while working for them on-site that I had been discriminated against. Basically I was the only female on the event, and the two guys from the agency who had the same duties as me were getting paid $5/hr more than I was. After the event I called them out on it. Ever since then, I haven’t gotten booked for one event. Not one single event in over 8 years. I’ve applied for at least 200 of them. I continue to receive email blasts, which within the last couple years has been almost every single day. And I continue to apply for events that I never get booked for. I’ve become beyond sick of it. So I finally emailed the owner, and the main staffing agent, who always ignores me when I contact him directly about a last minute gig after he emailed everyone telling them to, and I said this… “None of you ever book me for anything still after 8 years regardless if the activation is literally 4 miles from my house or even if you’re looking for someone at the last minute. So I don’t know why you continue to email me. Just get it over with and deactivate my account already.” The owner responds, “I’m not sure of the circumstances why Ascent wasn’t able to get you on previous projects, but if you want us to deactivate your account, please let me know and I’ll take care of it for you. Is that what you would like me to do?” I said, “Well, you are the owner of the company. You should be able to tell me why I’ve applied for at least 200 events in the last 8 years and I’ve gotten booked for not one of them, when prior to that I got booked for at least 1 out of every 5 events I applied for… Or why whenever your booking agent has a last minute cancellation and email blasts everyone saying to contact him directly on his cell and I text him literally a minute and a half later and I get no response. And if not, then still, you can change all that. But if you don’t want to, and you’re just going to continue to allow me to be emailed almost every day for events that I’ll never get booked for because you choose to leave things the way they are.. then yes, I want you to deactivate my account.” After that I said, how much do you want to bet I won't even get a response and the next time I try to log into my account it will say it's been deactivated. Well I called it, that’s exactly what happened… Much like years ago when they paid me $5/hr less than the males they booked, it just goes to show that they don’t give a hoot about their staff. That they don’t care about the issues they’re having and they refuse to resolve them. And I wanted to let everyone know about this because they shouldn’t be able to treat people this way and get away with it that easily…
