FALSE EXPECTATIONS - Claims Adjuster Assurant Employee Review

Pros

The only pro is some of the kind co-workers that you can relate with.

Cons

RUN FAST if you are seeking an opportunity to work in claims. The expectations from management specifically under the new leadership of the AVP (DJ) are extreme. This company needs to be more understanding that insureds typically are not happy with insurance companies because of the negative connotation that insurance companies have. As adjusters we are constantly trying our best to work hard and efficiently but we are not robots or artificial intelligence. We are humans and we need time to get our work done. It seems like they are trying to get rid of the entire current team to bring on a new team. Some of us have worked here for over 5 years and none of it matters anymore. I hope Assurant rethinks who they have placed in this senior leadership role. We need someone who is more understanding and has actually worked a claim in recent years. Also, managers and senior managers should stand up for all employees!

Pros

Remote work across all lines of business allows for a flexible work environment

Cons

There is almost no opportunity for growth. The company laid off quite a few employees recently as part of a planned reduction in force while also reporting its highest quarterly earnings. There's no loyalty to tenured employees.
