Pros

Most of the co-workers were the best I have ever seen. Work was done well, on time, and with good quality. Hardworking while being real, normal, and fun people. Bagels and donuts brought in on pretty good consistency.

Cons

Some of the most deceiving and insincere people I have ever had the displeasure to meet existed within upper management. Words such as "best" and "most profitable" are used with no actions to back it up. Instead, management simply drives up in their new cars and enjoys their fancy accessories for themselves. People who were great workers and contributed critically to teams are let go for no real reason. If one speaks for themselves, despite being asked to do something outside the scope of their job or at an inappropriate time of the day (or night) don't be surprised to see that person shuffled off quietly with little to no notice to co-workers. Huge turnover rate. Family owned and run business with the "chosen few and elect" reaping the benefits off the workers. No common respect given to non-family workers.

Pros

The company is growing a lot. New contracts have necessitated increasing the staff. This has opened opportunities for the existing staff. Avatar likes to promote from within and has done so consistently. Avatar has also paid for the training of employees in fields that support their duties. It is a great work environment.

Cons

There are very tight deadlines that must be met for our military customers which can be strenuous. Also critical KPIs are set which the company expects to be met, or a reasonable reason why not and what will be done to fix it.

Pros

Work From Home Flexible Work Hours (As long as targets are met) Salary was competitive Great Design and Development Team (or whats left)

Cons

The largest issue for Avatar is the lack of ability to gain new contracts and have a pipeline of future contracts. During my time at Avatar, I was laid off twice due to "lack of work."
