Prior to going private: Great place to work Now: No longer a good place with lack of focus and poor employee morale. - Member Of Technical Staff Avaya Employee Review

Pros

I worked with many amazingly intelligent engineers. The work itself was very interesting most of the time. Management at the project level was also very good. I truly enjoyed most of the time spent at Avaya, I would say this was in large part a result of the people I worked with. Additionally, the compensation, pay, and benefits were all very good. Most managers had a good view of work/life balance, and even though I worked many evenings, it was easy to take time when I needed too.

Cons

All the best things I liked about Avaya were disappearing. Avaya has not been the same place since it went private. It felt as if the employee was not valued. I hoped for the best and I still hope Avaya finds its direction, but it had not become a good place for the average employee. Morale was very low when I left and it appears upper management does not care, or is actually hoping for attrition. Avaya now is not the place it was a couple years back

Pros

The company used to care about customers, but they removed all the sales people who actually visited and consulted with customers to save travel cost.

Cons

The company's newest CEO, Patrick, only cares about getting back to a Cybersecurity company as fast as possible. Can't sell the company fast enough, but buyers can't get past due diligence periods.
