Pros
You'll work with some of the most talented people you'll ever meet, who are great fun and calm under pressure. Every day is different and you'll get to see amazing things. I worked at the Beeb for 20 years and loved it, although there were ups and downs.
Cons
Shift patterns are exhausting and programmes are doing more with less, meaning you will have to sacrifice your private life at times to get your work on air. It is white and middle class in some places, but the BBC is trying to change. It has also addressed bullying....finally. In some areas there is a glass ceiling for women, which is reflected in male-orientated output. Ultimately that's why I left: I wanted a career path but men with less experience were shooting up the career ladder, and there were few family friendly senior jobs (and I don't mean part-time.)
