Pros
Unless you are a female or homosexual who works directly in the hospitality industry (house keeper, clerk, etc) they are not interested in your success. They are not interested in your future. If you know this going in then you are well armed.
Cons
I was on-call for 8 years. 24x7x365. I was told when I came on board that there was no on-call duties but if anyone called after hours then I was expected to respond. My favorite calls were from people after hours who were too stupid to turn on their PCs or wondered why the monitor was blank when the screen was off. The Sr VP tried to tell me (The IT Director) that e-sports are NCAA recognized when I suggested they were wasting money by building a gaming zone in one of their restaurants and that I should do some research. They are not. This is the kind of brainless activity that goes on there. I asked to discuss my compensation after 8 years and was fired.
