Pros

A few solid, hard working employees that I was fortunate to work for. If you're on the good list, you might be lucky to get invited to sporting events. I will say there is more room for growth since it is a smaller company.

Cons

There is very little culture, upper management relies on a sink or swim atmosphere and rarely listens or opens their eyes to employee ideas or issues. The field and office are often pointing fingers to one another and the moral is low. Upper management can be closed minded. Benefits are minimal.

Pros

When I started at Barron Builders it took awhile to get acclimated but, now that I’ve been here awhile ,I enjoy their management style. They let you take ownership of a project and run with it. I like the fact that they reward self starters and do not micro manage you. They have company get togethers such as potlucks. And tailgate parties for the 49er football games. The main office is only a quarter mile from the stadium. I’ve worked for other companies and it seemed that the field staff opinion was of little value. Ernesto Barron founded the company and has always included the field staff in all their extracurricular activities. It’s been a real pleasure working at Barron Builders and I look forward to the future with them.

Cons

The company is young and still trying to find their feet so, it may seem chaotic or disorganized at times. But the management staff does invest in training and provides you with the tools you will need to succeed

Pros

The upper Management Aaron and Hilary in particular go above and beyond to ensure you are getting what you need to be successful and are extremely open and communicative to feedback. Great flexibility around family or medical issues, you can bring your kids to work if needed, leave early to go pick them up etc and as long as you make up your time all is well. This is a huge plus especially if you are concerned about your work life/balance. There is a strong push for a stronger better culture around the office not just best practices with document control but also with outings and events targeted towards team building. There is a lot of room for growth if you are willing to put in the extra work and hours as this is a start-up GC still All suggestions or concerns you bring up are always immediately addressed and acknowledged, it can be slow to actually implement new procedures but you are heard no matter your position in the company.

Cons

Not enough training/ on boarding for brand new employees there is a lot of sink or swim and you are expected to learn through asking and trial and error. Management could be a little more stern and rigorous in actually enforcing company policy. There are certain people who take advantage of the lax atmosphere.
