Pros
- Lawyers are kind, compassionate and relatable. - The office has an open plan arrangement making approaching senior staff less daunting - Many social gatherings and recognition
Cons
- Training is non existent. This is not a sleight at the training coordinator who does an amazing job in the capacity that she is given. This is directed at practice management who don’t give ample training before expecting tasks to be under taken - If you are not part of the inner circle you will feel excluded on a day to day basis in your team (aimed at Assistants/Paralegal members) as lawyers are welcoming and kind from my experience. - If you are in a non ‘prestigious’ position in the company you will be treated as such and not be given the opportunity to showcase the qualities that you bring to the company. - Litigation lawyers work long hours, are always staying back and arriving early which seems to be expected - Delegation of work is not clearly communicated in what is priority and given clear timeframes from experience
