Pros

Love the relationship you get to build with patients. Providers (at least at my location) are amazing. There's no belittling based off your job title. Patient care is top priority for both pcp and nurses. Great coworkers (for the few and don't end up leaving) Role advancement

Cons

Everything else. The turn-over rate is alaraming high. It's almost embarassing when patient's mention it and ask why. And they mention it a lot. I know the answer, it's because this company doesn't know what they're doing, but of course I tell the patients I'm not sure, and that it was maybe because of personal reasons. Management is.. horrible. HR is.. horrible. I feel like 98% of people are hired regardless of experience or education just because they need to fill a spot. There's so many issues with this company I don't even know where to start. So many promises are made that aren't kept. Favoritism within the company is a huge problem. Even with "VIP" patients. (Family of higher ups, friends of staff etc.) Employees who work hard aren't rewarded. If you do your job well you're basically screwed because they expect you to take over roles and assignments that aren't even included in your scope. Good luck requesting some time off. Almost always it's denied (unless you're one of the favorites) because offices are always understaffed. When it comes to rules and regulations each and every office has their own way of doing things which is frustrating especially since you can be pulled at any minute to go work at another location. Everything I learned at my training office was basically for nothing because when I got to my assigned office they did everything completely different. Our medical records program is trash. Computers are always freezing and systems go down all the time. You. Are. Worked. To. The. Bone. Get ready to have some of the worst and most stressful days of your life. Even with new employees- within the month they are already talking about how awful the company is. Don't expect a fast reply for anything. You have to keep bringing it up for about a week before you get a response. There's little to no communication with staff from managers and leads. You're told what to do, how to do it, when to do it. Bring up your concerns to a manager, but don't expect anything to change. I love the field I'm in but most days I hate coming to work. No matter how much effort or time you put into something it's never enough. In the end of the day it's all about numbers. The doctor I work for shows more appreciation for the things I do than my leadership team. I don't trust my higher ups so when something is bothering me I feel like I need to keep it to myself. So much gossiping. I can't trust that what I say will remain confidential. Our "paid" time off is taken from our pal. No bonuses. Sometimes you'll have a paid meeting but it counts as your lunch so you don't even get a chance to take a real break. Pay is very little. Insurance is so expensive. It's clear to every employee that Bayview's number one priority is money. Some doctors will refuse to see a patient if they owe too much or are in collections. You are told everything last minute if you're even told at all. I really looked forward to growing with this company but there's so many times when I feel like walking out just because I can't take it anymore. We lose good people because they refuse to match pay and overwork employees beyond their breaking point. It's an extremely toxic environment.
