Pros

Cool coworkers, good tips when busy

Cons

Been dead lately due to the loss of high status as a fine dining restaurant. Executives don't care about their employees. Didn’t tell us they were closing the restaurant until the day of. No warning even though we make our money daily. Doesn’t show much consideration from higher ups at all. All they care about is the money they make, can care less about you as an employee.

Pros

The new General Manager Mario Cuevas keeps everyone informed and involved in the decision making process. With this being a pivotal time of change and transition for the hotel, a firm open-door policy has been created in which all ideas/suggestions/thoughts are considered and discussed individually with the GM and as a team. Overall, it makes employees want to work harder because they are beginning to see immediate results as a direct correlation of sharing ideas and communicating.

Cons

During this time of change, there are many staff members who are accustomed to "old" habits or were taught a different way to accommodate a goal that can be more easily attained by utilizing a new process. I don't like listing this as a "CON" because these employees are able to provide reasoning as to why certain things were done a certain way which is very helpful... but at times it can present frustration. Change is hard for everyone so it is to be expected during this time. We all just need to be patient and open-minded during this time.
