Pros

WFH, but otherwise I can't name any pros

Cons

As all the other reviews say - STAY AWAY from this dysfunctional, chaotic place. The environment is deliberately stressful, unproductive, and selfish, driven largely by “LeAdeRsHiP”, which is stuck in 1992 as reflected by both their attitude and outdated technologies. Benchmark preys on entry-level & associate-level job seekers to ensure they have a compliant workforce that is “grateful” to have gotten a job. You will find yourself managed by people who are inexperienced, clueless, and operate on arrogance. Everyone is a manager. Some don’t even understand the product and are sent into customer meetings without any training or background. There is huge resistance to change and feedback is seen as a threat - don’t waste your time trying to give it. Any improvements are shot down because there “is not enough budget” while, as other reviews say, countless expensive parties and pointless conferences are thrown costing thousands. These events have nothing to do with business or customers. They are an opportunity for the pervy CEO to gawk at young female employees, feel important, and throw tantrums over everything from how dim the lights are to the music. The CEO is surrounded by enablers who agree with his erratic decisions such as the endless re-orgs that make no difference and only add problems to an already dysfunctional workplace. There is an air of fear in the company because the CEO has huge control issues and has created a cult of personality around himself. As other reviews have mentioned, the turnover is staggering. Benchmark refuses to pay for any employee trainings or courses even if they are relevant to the role, despite offering that as a benefit. This underscores the disposability of employees, especially those in other GLs that are openly exploited (expected the attend meetings outside of working hours, unpaid overtime required, ignorant comments and cultural references, etc.) There is no respect for work-life balance nor for employees time off, with routine interference via email, Teams, or even personal phone during vacations or sick leave. Another very Benchmark thing is lies. There are countless lies told about budgets, performance, deployment speed - everything here is a coverup for how much the company is failing. You work for months to complete 90% of your task before it is abandoned for another erratic pursuit. Prepare to do your job 2-3 times over before it is “complete” due to countless changes, chaos, lack of approvals, sudden withdrawals. You will then be blamed for expired contracts and unfinished work despite not receiving timely approval. You can also expect no accountability for anyone & will be routinely blamed for others’ mistakes. This place operates like a clique - prepare to see awful people get promoted and praised for backstabbing behavior. There is intentional bullying internally and passive aggression is the company spirit. People are not valued (They actually fired someone during their recovery from a ruptured appendix!) & I don’t know a single person who left this company without destroyed mental health, me included. Managers gossip and manipulate situations to create rivalries among employees. They will expect you to participate. Expect rude emails daily and patronizing comments on calls. You will be spoken down to and your work will be criticized in front of other team members and even customers. There is 0 trust even in the fact that you have basic literacy skills with simple emails requiring approval. Even employees’ Teams chats are surveilled by an AI due to the CEO’s paranoia and mistrust. Oh, and HR is a joke…no one likes your cringe initiatives - you’re not in a sorority anymore!!

Great experience so far. Have worked here for 2 years and have learned a lot about the industry and how it works. Definitely a good company to work at.

Nothing bad to say about the company.

Pros

Technology/product was ok, able to do customizations

Cons

Toxic work culture, period. Leadership demanded so much and were condescending that affected employee morale. There were only a couple managers that were great to work with. It was very micromanaging that you had to use a certain font style and color for your emails. They change the company name every few years and focus on non-important items. It’s sad because the company could be good with different leadership. Work life balance is also a struggle. Your mental health can take a beating.
