Pros

Alexi knows how to bring in big-name celebrity talent. Uplift is an amazing event focused on bringing out the best in mindsets and behaviors to help people build lives with purpose and passion. The company was full of brilliant people, building things that lead to better lives for members who used their products. The coaches by and large are a lovely, caring, and effective community. BetterUp Manage and Lead are an excellent products. For now.

Cons

Culture comes from the top. The culture here is fear driven. The CEO shows zero care or concern for the wellness or sanity of his employees. People are constantly pressured into accepting unrealistic deadlines that cannot be met even with long-hours, nights and weekends, and then reprimanded when they cannot hit those deadlines. At the same time, roadmaps and reorgs happen on repeat, at a faster rate than I've seen anywhere in tech. As others have expressed, they expect a cultish level of obedience. When smart people point out areas of improvement or places that need more consideration, they should be very wary of whether it supports or challenges the CEO's perspective in any way. I watched those who provided valuable insights and brave honesty be managed out for "being difficult" and "not getting what we are trying to do here" instead of being rewarded for making the culture and the products better. They are bleeding talent right and left because they know how to hire talent, but not how to utilize it.

Pros

I have enjoyed coaching a number of members here over the years.

Cons

Too many to name… they really seem to be on a downhill slope when they have to keep repeating that many coaches have low workloads now but it’s because they have changed the business strategy… they do have coaches tagged to that new strategy but it’s mysterious how they got those opportunities… they like to hide behind the idea that the algorithm makes decisions on workload but that’s BS to an extent.
