Pros

Nearly two years ago, some former colleagues reached out with a simple message: "You need to be part of what we're building here." Best career move I ever made. Since joining, I've helped build our support function, worked alongside our CSMs, and created the account manager role. Is there a lot of work? Absolutely. Do we face challenges? Of course. But here's the difference: at BetterComp, we're humans first. We're not reporting to some faceless executives who've never done our jobs. Our C-suite is right there in the trenches with us. They know our names. They care about the work as much as we do—and they actually care about us as people. Every commitment they make, they follow through on. Every concern I've raised has been heard and addressed, not buried. The best part of BetterComp, though? The people. Hands down.

Cons

None, outside of the growth challenges but that comes with startups

Pros

Bettercomp is in the early startup phase where the company is still very much figuring itself out. While that means a lot of change and building from scratch, it makes for a really interesting place to be. Nobody here is coasting. This is not the company to join if you want to hide in the background. You are expected to show up, do real work, and figure things out as you go. Career growth here is self-directed. If you're used to your manager bringing you opportunities or mapping out your path, you will probably feel stuck. But if you're willing to build relationships across teams, and stretch into work that is a little outside your lane, the opportunity is genuinely there. That does not always show up in your comp right away, so if fast title progression is your main motivation this might not be the right fit. But if you actually want to grow your skills and your impact, this is a good place to do it. I get solicited for other opportunities often but have decided to stay here for awhile as I truly believe this company is going to go places and the sweat equity (and real equity that I'm vesting] will pay off.

Cons

Resources are lean and the roadmap can shift. If you need a lot of structure and clear direction at all times, it might feel uncomfortable. You have to be someone who can roll with ambiguity and still deliver. It is not a perfect company but it's not pretending to be. The work matters, the people are good, and there is real potential here if you are willing to put in the effort.
