Pros

Benefits: medical plan paid for by the employer. The rest of the benefits are pretty standard.

Cons

Working here can be best described as a scene straight out of the 90's movie "Office Space." From the outdated installations to the characters, outdated processes/systems, and overall work culture. If you are considering this place to work, interview your manager well. Your experience working there will depend on the quality of the manager you get. While a few managers have managed to establish some semblance of structure for their teams, overall, management is weak. Most managers are in their roles due to seniority, rendering them obsolete and reluctant to relinquish their authority and power. Fresh ideas are often viewed as disruptive, and questioning the status quo is met with resistance. Even the most minor changes take an eternity to implement if they ever do. They have talked for ages about making upgrades to the building, changes are recently and slowly getting done -basically putting lipstick on a pig. North American operations closely follow directives from Germany, resulting in obsolete processes, platforms, and systems. Unfortunately, internal politics hinder any meaningful change, leaving other company groups frustrated by the outdated practices they're forced to follow. - Communication: Heavily relies on lengthy e-mails. There is a lack of trust where everyone feels they need to cover themselves in writing, which leads to a lot of miscommunication and inefficiencies that could have easily been solved by talking. Too much time is spent covering your back than getting things done. Silo thinking prevails across functions, making it a Herculean task to find even basic information. The organization lacks a centralized information repository, and employees often hoard information just because there is no other way or to secure their positions. - Training: It is a nightmare, especially for newcomers, as there's an unrealistic expectation that you'll grasp the job and organization without formal training. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are nowhere to be found, leaving your success largely dependent on landing a manager or team willing to help you. - Diversity: Almost Nonexistent. Although it’s a global company, interactions are governed through Germany and Denmark, and rarely will you interact with other places. Therefore, there is very low cultural sensitivity. Leadership is composed of aged white men. No minority or female representation either. There is only one female who has been in the company for ages and, despite her contributions, hasn’t been able to break the glass ceiling. - Employee appreciation: None- don’t even the minimum act of acknowledgment. They don't even answer your greeting, much less will they recognize employees for anything.
