Pros

I am struggling to think of any. Money seems OK, until you realize how time-intensive all requirements are and that providing feedback on really poorly written papers takes an incredible amount of time.

Cons

Terrible online curriculum; some of the worst students; cheating of epic proportions among its Saudi Electronic University student clients - worse than in any for-profit school in the US. Taught for a semester an MBA course that BCI designs and teaches for its partner, Saudi Electronic University. This was just an appearance of a graduate course - 80-90% of students cheated extensively and systemically; and the policies allowed them to submit and re-submit cheated assignments without penalty. Think of it this way: you submit a plagiarized assignment at a US university, you fail the assignment the first time; second time you fail the course. Here, you get to resubmit the assignment without penalty if/when caught. Many, if not most, students used synonym generator websites to escape plagiarism detection and turned in ridiculous papers that made little to no sense. Silly faculty requirements that made no sense (eg respond to every single student's discussion post; say three nice things about papers in all feedback, no matter what crap gets turned in). Zero concern about teaching students - students, faculty, and administrators go through the notions of making it seem like they are teaching and learning. Oh, and here's the best part - classified their faculty as independent contractors and not employees, in what appears to be a violation of US employment law.

Pros

as a part time adjunct--the pay is OK.

Cons

Management is so scattered in how they operate. Everything is reactive in this organization. The VP of the organization actually plays with her hair and a toy while on live conferences and discusses going on all-inclusive adult trips. The other PMs are more interested in getting out of work and taking days off instead of doing the job correctly and to the stated requirements. They can't keep anyone in the organization that adds any value because everyone departs. The environment is toxic and the turnover rate very high. The motto of leadership is let's try to do the minimum in the organization and see what we can get out of to avoid working. The director of the program takes off 2 days during the week excluding weekends and doesn't answer emails or telephone calls. They have zero idea how to manage or plan but yet insist they are the best at everything. As long as you do what they say and not what is obviously correct and just try to be their friend---life will be good. Professional dialog and constructive disagreement is not tolerated! I had more experience and better collegiate pedigrees but yet I had better just be quiet and do what I was told. I just couldn't work in that environment and gave up a solid paid position for minimal hours.
