Pros
People who have the most success at Bilt are those who have gone through the failures and success of rapidly building and shipping product. They have learned that that cycle never ends no matter what company you go to.
If you are ok with throwing good ideas away because the timing just wasn't right, juggling multiple large concepts at the same time to truly map out the entire lifecycle of a user, maintaining focus on a broader story while implementing smaller features to work up to the vision, and all the pitfalls that come with scaling - work at Bilt. It takes a lot of discipline, personal reflection, intention, and most importantly a love for building software, to operate at this level everyday. If it was easier, everyone could do it.
Cons
If you need to be told what to do, where you could help, how to find problems to solve, and get distracted/compare yourself to others - this isn't the place for you. Bilt rewards curious and opinionated people that can make a decision under pressure. Everyone is doing what they can to make sense and organize the huge undertakings of revolutionizing how we live. Ankur and leadership isn't here to hand-hold you or be your friend. If being expected to deliver, execute, and receive feedback (and criticism) constantly isn't what you want to do atm - don't work at Bilt.
Having expectations from your peers given to you is a privilege, they want to see you succeed! That doesn't mean earning their trust is easy. If you want support and the ability to take time off with no questions asked - that is a right you earn and aren't just given.
