Pros

- Company is riding the wave of a decent idea and is well funded - My direct team I really did enjoy. Great people who genuinely wanted to do a lot of good.

Cons

- Being mostly in-office, it is an incredibly disruptive environment. Sonos system always playing or someone talking to you despite having headphones on. Finding a quiet place to work means you'll need to work from home. - There's a very strong "bro" culture that revolves heavily around alcohol. If you are a POC, queer, or gender non-conforming person, I would steer clear. This will be a challenging environment for you. - Initiatives change fast and frequently with little regard to what's already in flight or what needs to be tended to. - From my perspective, there is a cult of personality surrounding CEO, Ankur Jain. Many people in the company are extremely deferential to him, leading to decisions being made on a whim or under the pretense of keeping him appeased. For example, he is constantly sending urgent change requests to teams which are immediately prioritized despite having significant consultation from those building the product who also have subject matter expertise. - Product direction is a moving target, influenced by the above point. Initiative organization and work tracking is hit or miss, leading to inaccurate timelines and a blurry scope of work. - Engineering standardization of quality is rough. Between services, versions and quality standards vary greatly, even within pods. There is unnecessary bloat and little thought put into future evolution. Much of the work planned is focused on what went wrong on the previous Rent Day.

Pros

Incredible experience and intelligent people. Well paid for your time as an intern. High emphasis on building your future career as an intern; very interested to develop your future success and career growth.

Cons

Still has a start-up feel (not a negative!), which sometimes means that intern programming felt in the early stages of organization.

Pros

Great health insurance and the office coffee situation was decent, which honestly is the absolute bare minimum but still one of the few tolerable things here.

Cons

- The processes here are completely nonexistent. - You will spend your first month desperately trying to figure out how anything actually works because nobody documented anything and every person gives a completely different version of the same procedure, which becomes infuriating fast. - There is no standard workflow for anything, so you constantly waste time reinventing everything or asking five different people the same question and getting five completely different answers. - Meetings happen just to repeat the same useless conversations from previous meetings while nothing actually improves. - Things constantly fall through because there is no real tracking system at all. It is just endless emails flying everywhere until something important disappears. - By the end, I was completely exhausted trying to compensate for the total lack of any real organizational structure.
