Pros

Biocom California has proven to be an influential voice in an industry that has faced incredible challenges from COVID and economic downturns. We provide resources and hope for companies that are starting to companies that are large and established. We have a collaborative environment that is flexible, supportive, and energetic. My role helps members stay connected with all of the resources available to succeed. The South San Francisco office is conveniently located right in the heart of the birthplace of biotechnology with plenty of resources such as a gym, parking garage, and restaurants on site. My experience is valued and allowed to be exercised with full confidence from the leadership team.

Cons

We need to find a way to onboard new and relevant resources for members faster. Additional resources are needed to support the pillars in the Bay Area.

Pros

There is a very good work environment at Biocom. Everyone is friendly and helpful. There are not only great benefits in this company but also very good team ethics. Overall positive experience in my time here so far.

Cons

There are no cons that I can think of as of this moment. (Maybe the office being a little cold).

Pros

The organization offers significant flexibility, with an outstanding benefits package. Medical coverage is fully provided by Biocom, and employees have access to a state-of-the-art gym located right below the office, fully paid for by the company. Mental health support, including an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), is also offered. Additionally, the company hosts regular giveback activities and provides employees with a complimentary lunch once a week.

Cons

Some days, the challenges can overshadow the positives. The organization is highly siloed, making it difficult to shift the entrenched mindset that has developed over the past 20+ years. Be ready to ask a lot of questions, often in different ways, and prepare to pivot frequently. The company’s top-heavy structure can lead to power struggles and authority issues, which adds to the complexity of navigating the workplace.
