There is a lot of "talk" about AAs and EAs being important, but a lot depends on who your manager is, as inconsistency on job duties and responsibilities vary widely.
Cons
The struggle is real for growth, and they'll wear you down for promotions - too much is tied to who you support, rather than what you personally bring to the table.
