Pros
The best reason was that the pay was decent for the amount of work that one had to put in. In little as three weeks, I had the authority and trust to work as a night manager on duty when there was not one available at the time. I had bell hops, food and beverage, and house keeping staff that had to report to me for any issues which I then had to convey to head authority. So again, the best part of working there was not only the pay but the power of the position. There some great benefits including discounts on everything at the hotel including the restaurant and the hotel itself. In addition, for sake of privacy I cannot disclose who, but one gets to meet very famous people that stay at the hotel!
Cons
The only down side to working there was the fact that it can be difficult to work there and go to school. I had given the manager to make my shifts according to my school schedule. There were some nights that I had to work when I had requested the night off. However, we were under staff at the time and that is why it was an issue at the time, which in not true now. Also, if time off is requested more than two weeks in advance, then getting time off should not be an issue. So the only downside is when working under staffed.
